Niclas Lafrensen

Niklas Lafrensen (1737-1807), known in French as Nicolas Lavreince, was a Swedish genre and miniature painter. He was the son of painter Niklas Lafrensen the Elder and Magdalena Stuur. Lafrensen was active in Paris and Stockholm and is considered one of the chief European miniaturists of the second half of the 18th century.
