Pieter Fransz de Grebber, born around 1600 in Haarlem and died in 1652 or 1653, was a Dutch Golden Age painter. De Grebber was born in Haarlem, the oldest son of Frans Pietersz de Grebber, a painter and embroiderer in Haarlem, and the brother of the painters Maria and Albert. He learned to paint from his father and from Hendrick Goltzius. De Grebber was a pioneer of Dutch Classicism in Haarlem and is known for his history paintings and portraits. His works are celebrated for their detailed realism and emotional depth, capturing the essence of Dutch Golden Age life and character. His career was marked by his ability to depict the elegance and spirit of his era, making him a notable figure in 17th-century Dutch painting.
